Hand-painted Portuguese Platter

Portuguese octagonal platter handpainted by Jorge using reissued stencils. We loved these nestled birds surrounded by flowers and we combined them with a brushed rim in light blue with a geometrical border in deep Portuguese blue. Jorge and Maria collect old folk art pottery so the designs are not lost, each of the drawings and borders used are at least 100 years old. The Portuguese use these especially for custard, but these platters are fantastic for serving grilled vegetables, the Sunday roast, or your Thanksgiving sides.
